Rules
If you are willing to judge or steward, please return to register on or after Wednesday, October 1, 2025 12:00 AM, MDT.
Please note: There is a limit of four (4) entries per person in this competition.
This competition is sanctioned by the BJCP/AHA and open to any amateur homebrewer who resides in Colorado and is 21 years old or older. Entries from non-Colorado brewers will be judged. However, they will not be eligible for any medals or awards.
All entries must be received at the shipping/drop off location by the entry deadline.
All entries must be homemade products, using ingredients available to the general public, and made with private equipment by home brewers (i.e., no use of commercial facilities or brew-on-premises operations, supplies, etc.).
The competition organizers are not responsible for misclassified entries, entries not received by the entry deadline, or entries that arrive damaged.
The competition organizers reserve the right to combine styles for judging and to restructure awards as needed based on the quantity and quality of entries. Entries will be reviewed prior to check-in to ensure appropriate classification according to the 2021 BJCP Style Guidelines. If an entry is deemed misclassified, it will be reassigned based on information provided by the entrant. If reassignment results in a brewer having multiple entries in a subcategory limited to one entry per entrant, the reclassified beer will be disqualified.
Qualified judging of all entries is the primary goal of our event. Judges will evaluate and score each entry. The average of the scores will rank each entry in its category. There will be at least one BJCP judge in each flight.
Brewers are not limited to one entry in each category but may only enter each subcategory once.
Categories may be combined based on the number of entries at the discretion of the competition committee. Every effort will be made to combine similar styles. All brews in combined categories will be judged in the style in which they were originally entered.
Entry Acceptance Rules
Each entry will consist of three (3) 12 to 22 oz capped bottles, three (3) 375 to 750 ml capped/corked bottles, or three 11 to 16.9 oz cans that are void of all identifying information, including labels and embossing.
12 oz brown glass bottles are preferred; however, green and clear glass will be accepted. Swing top bottles will likewise be accepted, but are not recommended.
11-16.9 oz cans are likewise permitted, provided each are void of all identifying information, including labels and embossing.
Bottles and cans will not be returned to entrants.
Please Note: two bottles/cans is the minimum for the entry to be judged. If you elect to send two bottles/cans for any entry, please be aware that you will forfeit the opportunity to be considered for Best of Show and Pro-Am or Scale-Up consideration.
Remove or black out with permanent marker any identifying marks from bottle caps. Solid color bottle caps are acceptable - all other printed bottle caps must be completely blacked out.
Caps with identifiable markings that make them unique as determined by the Competition Organizer with visible symbols, writing, etching, coating, etc. will be disqualified.
Entry Labels
Entry labels must be printed directly from the this website and should be attached to bottles/cans as directed.
Entry Requirements
When adding your entry into the system, be meticulous about noting any special ingredients that must be specified per the 2021 BJCP Style Guidelines. Failure to note such ingredients may impact the judges' scoring of your entry.

Packing and Shipping
Carefully pack your entries in a sturdy box. Line the inside of the box with a plastic garbage bag. Use appropriate packing material to divide and pack each bottle. Please do not overpack the package!
Write clearly fragile - this side up on the package. Please use only bubble wrap to wrap your bottles.
Place each bottle label in a small zipper bag before attaching to each bottle. This will allow the organizer to specifically identify which entry was broken in the event of shipping damage.
Every reasonable effort will be made to contact competitors whose bottles have been damaged in order to make arrangements for the shipment of replacement bottles.
Please plan your shipping arrangements accordingly. Packages that are received after the deadline for shipping will not be considered for judging.
